You may know that Justin Timberlake has a history of creating some fairly long songs in the past, and his new single, "Mirrors," is no exception. The song is over eight minutes long and JT had previously teased that there's a few other long songs his new album, The 20/20 Experience. Now Justin has defended his practice of creating long songs to Capital FM.
"When we were making the record I said, 'If Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin can do 10-minute songs and Queen can do 10-minute songs then why can't we?'" he told Capital FM. "We'll figure out the radio edits later.''
''Music is for dreamers," he continued. "You should be able to create another world that you can live in. I'm not gonna speak for Bob Dylan - he's one of my idols - but from my perspective, as a fan, it seems to me that he started creating music that made him feel like another person and that's what it should do."
"[The studio] really is one place that you can still go to that you can be completely free. You can lock yourself in a room and make a whole other world.''
