Big congrats to Hunter Hayes, he has just landed his third consecutive #1 single on the Mediabase Aircheck Country charts with "I Want Crazy." The song follows in the footsteps of his previous single "Wanted" and "Somebody's Heartbreak."
Hunter recently told Radio.com about how the song came together. "I had this title ‘I Want Crazy’ and I was trying to say exactly what I said. I don’t want, ‘We can make this work. Sure, okay, it’s good,’" he explained. "There’s these moments in the right relationship where your friends look at you as if they don’t know you," he added. "They’re just like, ‘Who are you?’ But it’s a pleasant surprise. It’s not like, ‘Dude you haven’t called me in six months, kind of surprise. It’s more like, ‘Where’s all this energy and all these laughs coming from. Who is this person?’" Hunter also revealed what it was like to hear "I Want Crazy" on the radio for the first time a few months ago when he had a day off in Nashville. Ever since One Direction's latest single "Best Song Ever" was released last month, a few grumpy and stiff music critics have been calling for The Who to sue the One Direction boys and their songwriters for ripping off The Who with the instrumentals. This is because these people say the song sounds entirely to similar to The Who's classic song "Baba O'Riley." Since then rumors have been swirling, BUT it turns out Pete Townshend, frontman of The Who and writer of "Baba O'Riley" is actually a fan of the song and has no plans to sue.
"I like the single. I like One Direction," The Who member said. "The chords I used and the chords they used are the same three chords we've all been using in basic pop music since Buddy Holly, Eddie Cochran and Chuck Berry made it clear that fancy chords don't mean great music – not always." He added: "I'm still writing songs that sound like Baba O'Riley – or I'm trying to. It's a part of my life and a part of pop's lineage. One Direction are in my business, with a million fans, and I'm happy to think they may have been influenced a little bit by The Who." "I'm just relieved they're all not wearing boiler suits and Doc Martens, or Union Jack jackets." So let's compare, in case you're not familiar with The Who's "Baba O'Riley," you can take a listen to that below. One Direction seems to be taking over the magazine world, after covering the latest editions of Teen Vogue in the US and the cover of British GQ, One Direction is once again taking on the cover of Fabulous Magazine in the UK! This time though with a much more American feel than the last time they were on the cover, last year around this time.
The lads take on a bit of a dirty mechanic look for the photo-shoot with Liam rocking a denim vest and finger-less gloves (showing off his per-fect arms - hashtag Leeroy reference), Harry and Louis also take on the denim look with Harry going ultimate rocker with a headband. Niall has a simple tank top with an American flag and Zayn also goes for a simple yet very effective look. Here's a cover where the boys seductively staring at you. Three is better than one, right? Emblem3 has gone all Justin Bieber on us and posted their own naked picture on their Twitter page on Tuesday night. The picture comes right after pictures surfaced online of Justin Bieber wearing nothing but a guitar covering his little Biebs. But it might be fair to say considering there's more guys in this picture, E3's blows JB's out of the water.
Band members Wesley Stromberg, Keaton Stromberg, and Drew Chadwick posted a photo showing them naked and standing in front of a window with nothing but musical instruments covering up their privates. Wesley and Drew have massive guitars while Keaton must have gotten the short straw with only mini-keyboard covering his part. We love new music here at Hit Zone! Today I'd like to introduce you to the band RadioDriveBy from Tempe, AZ. The pop/rock group is made up of Trent Clark, Adam Simons, David Glosser, Evan Yuen, and Austin Gavin. The guys have done some touring in the past and will continue to tour around the US and the world throughout the rest of the year with a new album on the way soon.
