Cody Simpson released his new album, Surfer's Paradise, earlier this month and is enjoying the success of his current single, "Pretty Brown Eyes," but as Cody told DJ Toro at New York's 92.3 NOW, he's very excited for the future projects he has coming up, which even includes Cody's first book, "Cody Simpson: Welcome to Paradise: My Journey," will be released in October and Cody can't wait for fans to see it.
"We’re filling it with a bunch of photos and stuff," Cody said about the book. "I wanted to be able to share my stories through my own words, because Wikipedia is sort of, whatever."
"I wanted to sort of help my fans, you know, bring them closer to me," he said about sharing his life with his fans. "In everything I do I just want to help them get more personal through the music, whether it’s in the music or through a book."
Cody also talked about the first time he ever heard himself on the radio back when he was just 13 years old. He said he was called out of a dinner party out to a car by a friend who knew he was going to be on the air.

"It was a very, very strange but amazing feeling," he said. "I sort of just sat in the car and just, like, listened to it. It was after Katy Perry or something crazy, so it was cool. Especially because I was so young. It was like very, very exciting, especially when you’re 13-years-old."
I imagine hearing yourself on the radio for the first time would be exciting at any age! You can pick up Cody's new album out now.
