"I wouldn’t necessarily say she is a country artist," Luke said. "I mean, obviously Taylor Swift started in country, but she morphed into somewhat of a cultural icon, so, who am I to judge what she is?"
Let's be honest, Luke isn't lying. It's hard to still consider Taylor Swift a country artist when her music is constantly played on pop radio. But Taylor's music isn't the only music that has crossed over from country to pop. Hunter Hayes has done it with "Wanted" and Florida-Georgia Line added Nelly to their track "Cruise" and it became a summer smash, among a few others. Luke says it's really all about what the fans want to hear.
What do you think about Luke's comments? Do you agree? Or are you one of those people that still considers Taylor Swift a country artist and think Luke just earned himself a song about him on her new album?
