A few days before Christmas, Demi Lovato announced on her Twitter page that she would be releasing something very special on Christmas Eve.

That night she posted an intimate, acoustic performance of "Angels Among Us" on her YouTube channel dedicated to the families and victims of the Newtown, CT school shooting. The song was originally recorded by the country band Alabama in 1993 as a Christmas single.
Along with the video, Demi posted a message urging fans to visit WeAreNewtown.org along with the following:
We can never imagine what the families in Newtown, CT are experiencing right now. And while there is nothing we can do to replace their loss, we can stand together and support them during this difficult time.
This song is in honor of those angels we lost on December 14.
