Ed Sheeran is very excited to join Taylor Swift on her Red Tour next year and says she's "opened up a lot of doors" for him through their friendship. "The A-Team" star will join Taylor on 58 dates across North America beginning in March.
"This is actually my biggest outing to date," Ed told MTV News this week, after the announcement. "I've never gone on tour for six months without a break. I've never really touched multiple arenas so that's going to be a bit mind-blowing."
Ed says though he understands it's Taylor's show and has no intention on trying to overshadow her set.
"It's Taylor's show and I'm meant to open up and get them warmed up," he said. "I think Taylor's just opening up a lot of doors and it's up to me to make sure that I get through to them. It's a massive opportunity for me and I want to make sure to grab it with both hands."
He's looking forward to bringing his music to a new audience in the US: "It will be exciting to be back in a situation where I'm playing in front of people who are complete strangers and I have to win them over," he said.
