What's up gleeks?! It's Joe here filling in for Gabi with the return of the Gleeview! Glee was finally back last night after taking a month hiatus due to baseball following the break-up episode. The episode titled "The Role You Were Born to Play" focused on a lot on the set up for Grease as the school musical. The episode is also the debut of The Glee Project season 2 winner, Blake Jenner (Ryder). Here's what went down.
Finn very much depressed about what his future holds following his breakup with Rachel and is currently working at Burt's body shop. Artie decides to help him get back on track again by urging him to co-direct the musical with him, especially since Grease was his idea to begin with. To help make the musical a reality, Artie calls upon Mike and Mercedes back to McKinley High to help out. But throughout auditions they had a difficult time finding a lead character. That's when the others tell Finn that he needs to seek out talent, similar to what Mr. Schue did with him. Finn pays a visit to the football team where he finds Ryder Lynn, a wide receiver who has awesome dance moves. After Ryder insisted he couldn't sing, Finn encouraged him to show up to auditions and prove it. He proves his talent when they sing "Jukebox Hero" together, which was one of the best performances of the episode.

Elsewhere on the episode during the true casting process, the character of Sandy is a face-off between Kitty and Marley who both did great with their auditions with Jake and Wade "Unique" Adams, respectively. Here's a look at their auditions.
.
However things get complicated when Sue gets involved after Unique says he wants to play the role of Rizzo. Finn fights with Sue over the decision who promises to make a big, public stink about it that will affect the school and Wade. In the end though Finn doesn't back down and goes forward with casting Wade as his alter ego, Unique. Finn promises to defend Wade against anything Sue throws at him. Wade begins to cry when says he doesn't feel right in men's clothing and confesses that it's nice for once to feel like he has found the right place in life.
Then it was time for callback auditions, Jake and Ryder were both up for Danny and paired with the potential Sandy's, Marley and Kitty. The Mike and Mercedes-led "Born to Hand Jive" serves as their final audition to see which pair has the most chemistry together. In the end, Ryder and Marley would land the roles.

After announcing the final casting, Finn realizes that helping other people's dreams come true feels good, Will notices he's a natural at it and offers him the role as the leader of New Directions during his three month period in Washington.
It was another great episode as we continue to see new characters be introduced into the show, just as we have all season long.
