Justin Timberlake returned to music in a big way last week with his new album, The 20/20 Experience, selling a whopping 968,000 copies and obviously debuting at #1 this week on the Billboard Top 200.
According to Billboard, the album is JT's best ever first-week sales as a solo artist after his debut Justified sold 439k copies in 2002 and FutureSex/LoveSounds sold 684k in 2006. The sales highly out number the original projections from Billboard which predicted 500,000 copies to be sold in the first week.
Overall though, Justin's new album marks the third best first week sales for a male solo artist in SoundScan history just behind Usher's Confessions (1.10m) and Garth Brooks's Double Live (1.09m).
Justin previously confirmed that a second volume of The 20/20 Experience will be out later this year.
