The official One Direction Facebook page announced yesterday that the boys have been chosen to record the next Comic Relief charity single for Red Nose Day. The guys will be recording a cover of Blondie's 1978 classic "One Way Or Another," with all proceeds from the track going to the charity Comic Relief. The single will be released in February and available to pre-order from iTunes on January 31.
"We have grown up with Comic Relief and taken part in lots of Red Nose Days at school so we were thrilled to be asked to do this year's Red Nose Day single," Harry said at Capital FM's Jingle Bell Ball last night. "It's such an honor for us. We can't wait to perform our version of this iconic pop song and raise as much money as possible for this incredibly important cause that is really close to our hearts."
Zayn added: "At school Red Nose Day was a big deal. Me and my friends used to really look forward to it. One year we all came in in our pajamas which was pretty cool."
Comic Relief is a British charity day where everyone sports big red noses, all for a good cause. Red Nose Day returns on Friday, March 15 on the BBC.
