The Voice two night finale kicked off on Monday night (June 17) with four performances from each artist. They each sang a song they & their coach picked, a defining moment song chosen by the coach, and a duet with their coach, as well as a group performance with the other contestants.
The show kicked off with an awesome performance of "With A Little Help From My Friends" from all four coaches.
The show kicked off with an awesome performance of "With A Little Help From My Friends" from all four coaches.
Near the end of the show all three teamed up for a performance of "Home" which included a slideshow and video montages of their time on the show in the background. About halfway through, the top 16 contestants from this season joined them on-stage to sing the song with them. The performance received a standing ovation from all four coaches.
The Swon Brothers (Team Blake)
Song: "I Can't Tell You Why" by The Eagles - WATCH
Thoughts: Usher said it was nice to see them evolving, saying they finally found their "girl voice." Shakira, who was waving a "go okies" flag said that it was a good song choice and it was nice to see their falsetto. Adam, who is a huge Eagles fan, said they did an incredible job. Blake expanded on what Usher said about how they continue to evolve with each performance.
Song: "Danny's Song" (Defining moment chosen by Blake) - WATCH
Thoughts: Usher said that they did the song such justice and really know how to make each song their own. Adam echoed what Usher said and said that it sounded like a song that could be out today. Blake praised that them saying their harmonies get better with each performance and that their version of the song could very well be played on the radio.
Song: "Celebrity" by Brad Paisley (Coach Duet)
Thoughts: No responses from the other coaches - it was another real fun performance from the brothers and you could tell it certainly had a meaning to Blake and they just had a lot of fun performing the song.
Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher)
Song: "I Knew You Were Trouble" by Taylor Swift (Defining moment song chosen by Usher) - WATCH
Thoughts: Shakira said that she's needed out there as in an artist. Adam said that he can really feel the energy in the room and that's something that can't be faked, Blake said things along the same lines of that. Usher said she's easily the winner and that many years from now they'll look back at this performance.
Song: "Why" - WATCH
Thoughts: Shakira pulled out glasses to support Michelle and complimented her personality in addition to her talent. Blake was distracted by the mirror trick she pulled off during her performance. Usher said the mirror takes them back to when they first connected with the world and said that going back to what Shakira said, likability and ability is what truly makes a great artist.
Song: "One" (Coach Duet)
Thoughts: No responses from the other coaches - very cool performance, there's a connection between Usher & Michelle that just makes them and their voices go so well together. Easily the best coaches duet of the night, in my opinion.
Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake)
Song: "Timber, I'm Falling In Love" (Coach Duet) - WATCH
Thoughts: No responses from the other coaches - but it was another great performance from Danielle. Her Blake certainly had a connection that has made the two of them a successful team this season.
Song: "Maybe It Was Memphis" (Defining moment song chosen by Blake) - WATCH
Thoughts: Shakira put on a Texas cowboy hat as support and said that she grabbed the "bull by the horn" and that she's just simply amazing. Adam said her voice is so "unbelivable perfect" and it's one of the best voices he's ever heard and said that he thinks she's the winner of the show. Blake said that he got the same feeling that time as he did the first time she sang the song.
Song: "Born To Fly" by Sara Evens
Thoughts: Adam was speechless and said that her perfection is almost boring at this point and couldn't think of anything else to say. Blake got emotional telling her how much she means to him and to music and how thankful he is that she came to The Voice.
What was your favorite performance of the night? Find out who wins it all as the results are revealed and they celebrate another great season on the season finale of The Voice, tonight at 8/7c on NBC!
