What a night it was on The Voice! It was night #4 of blind auditions and before we dive into the good and bad of the night, there was a noticeable difference in the with the way the show was formatted tonight. Regardless of The Voice beating The X-Factor in the ratings last Wednesday, it seems NBC took a note from X-Factor by adding more footage of backstage interaction between the coaches. That's something I've never seen as much of on the show before, but I certainly hope they keep it up. Alight, let's take a look at tonight's audt
First up on the night was Melanie Martinez and her guitar driven performance of “Toxic." She got Adam & Blake to turn around at the same time with Cee-Lo joining in near the end. She wanted to go with someone who would let her express her creativity so she went with Adam.
Next up was Cupid, who is famously known for creating the viral hit song, "Cupid Shuffle." And that was the song that he chose to sing, but it wasn't enough to get any of the coaches to turn around. Afterwards when Cee-Lo reconized him, they let him sing something that showed off his talent. Interesting to note though, this is the second person this season who has real singing experience to appear on the show and NOT get picked. You may remember Chris from Dream Street auditioned on Wednesday night and got no spins. Also tonight we would see Agina Alvarez, who was once signed by Sony Records and has even produced a album, she also got no spins from the coaches.
Then it was time for Brian Scartocci who came out with a rocking performance of “Isn’t She Lovely." He got Adam, Blake, & Cee-Lo to turn around at the same time. Blake then jokingly listed out the things they have in common and Adam mentioned how he should sing with Stevie Wonder. Of course he went with Adam.
Skipping ahead a bit, it was time for Liz Davis who sang “Here For The Party” got Adam and Christina’s attention right away. And even Blake turned around at the last minute. Blake even played his country card (go figure) and brought out his ACM Award for Male Vocalist of the Year. She went with Blake, then again what country artist wouldn't?
Wrapping up the night was 16 year-old Avery Wilson who sang “Without You” and got Adam, Cee-Lo, and Christina to turn around at the same time followed by Blake near the end making him the only 4 turner of the night. After each coach made their case he decided to go with Cee-Lo.
So, after four nights of blind auditions, here's where the coaches teams stand so far. Adam & Christina both have nine and Blake & Cee-Lo both have seven. Remember, the coaches have sixteen spots each on their teams.
