Hey, everyone! I'm Gigi here to give you a quick rundown of yesterday's two-hour season two premiere of the X Factor-the new judges, the good, the bad...and the just plain WRONG.
The show started in Austin Texas where Paige Thomas blew the judges out of the water. The single mom was the first to get four yeses out of the judges. The show seemed to be getting off to a great start. Oops. Spoke too soon. When Sean A. came on stage, things got kind of hectic. Not only was he no good, he had the audacity to call Demi Lovato and LA Reid out! Not the best move. Then we meet Reed Denning, a 13 year old kid with a big voice. Everyone thought he looked like a mini Justin Bieber. Me? He reminded me more of Greyson Chance.
Next stop on the road to find the next big star was San Francisco where Quatrele Da'an gave the most...interesting...performance. In a white leotard. And Veil. His performance of Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" left judge Simon Cowell wanting to "Embrace the madness" and let him through. Also auditioning in San Francisco were the three members of non-boyband Emblem 3 (one of my personal favorites of the night.) Their original song "Sunset Boulevard" kept the judges' attention from start to finish-I'm predicting big things from those three.
The last stop of the night was Providence, RI where new judge Britney Spears was able to reconnect with an old acquaintance-unfortunately the outcome wasn't so nice. Then there was Jennel Garcia, an 18 year old who looks sweet (and is) but can sing like a true rocker. The final audition of the episode was Jillian Jensen. She and Demi bonded immediately over shared experiences, and her performance of Jessie J's "Who You Are" left not one dry eye in the audience, the judges' chairs, or viewer at home.
Before I wrap it up, I have to give a shout out to both Demi Lovato and Britney Spears for doing so well in the judges's chairs!
All in all this is shaping up to be a very surprising season of the X Factor.
Until NeXt time! (See what I did there? :))
