Hey HitZone readers! X Factor Xtra's back and I'm here to let you know what went down at the Judges' Homes!
After thousands auditioned, the top 24 were chosen to be mentored by the judges in their homes. The contestants were put into four different categories: Teens (Diamond White, Beatrice Miller, Arin Ray, Reed Demmings, Carly Rose Sonenclar & James Tanner), Young Adults (Jennel Garcia, CECE Frey, Jillian Jensen, Willie Jones, Paige Thomas & Nick Youngerman), Over 25s (Daryl Black, Tate Stevens, Vino Alan, David Correy, Jason Brock & Tara Simon), and Groups. Contests in the groups category were special. Along with three acts that came into the competition as a group, there were three other groups made up of contestants who auditioned as solo artists, but didn't make the cut. Lylas (members: Lauren Jauregui, Dinah-Jane Hansen, Normani Hamilton, Ally Brooke & Camila Cabello), Playback (members: Austin Corini, Johnny Maxwell, Aaron Stewart, Brandon Hassan & Josh Metzler) and Lyric145 (members: Lyrica De Queen & ONE4FIVE) joined Emblem3, Sister C and Dope Crisis to make the Groups category.

After the categories were created, each judge awaited a phone call letting them know which category they would be mentoring. Demi Lovato received the Young Adults category, Simon Cowell had gotten the Groups, Britney would be mentoring the Teens, leaving L.A. Reid with the Over 25s.
At the judges' homes each act had one final audition in front of their mentor and their mentor's assistants. At the end of the round, only four acts in each category would move on to the live shows.
Demi Lovato chose Nick Jonas (insert fangirlish scream here) to help her decide who to bring with her to the live shows. After watching all of the Young Adults give their all, Demi had a very tough decision to make.
Britney Spears and her aid Will.I.Am (which I totally didn't get, by the way) saw the final six Teens perform for their shot in the live shows. Although she thought all six were incredible, she could only bring four with her to the the live shows.
The Over 25s were in for a challenge when they had to perform in front of L.A. Reid, as well as Justin Bieber and manager Scooter Braun. After they blew the mentors away, it was them who were in for a challenge.
Simon Cowell, along with Marc Anthony, watched the six groups lay it all on the line before having to make a very important decision.
