Hey everyone! Last night's episode of the X Factor was incredible! Each act sang two songs: one unplugged, and one chosen by voters via the Pepsi Challenge.
First act of the night was constant fighter CeCe Frey with a stripped down performance of Lady Gaga's "Edge of Glory." Don't get me wrong, I think she's fought long and hard to be where we is now, but I don't think she's as good as she should be in the competition right now. As for her second song, "Part of Me" was a perfect choice lyrically...it just didn't go as far as I think CeCe could have taken it.

Next up was one of my personal favorite acts, Emblem 3. They sang "Just the Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, only accompanied by guitar. I loved seeing a more gentle side of the three Cali guys. [Enter swoon here.] Their other performance was "Forever Young," which was SO in their wheelhouse. I see such potential in these guys...it's just a bonus that they're good looking, I swear
Carly Rose did an unpredictable acoustic version of Justin Bieber's hit "As Long As You Love Me." She made me fall in love with that song-and before her performance I couldn't stand it. Her second performance, Beyonce's "If I Were A Boy" was phenomenal. ..but I expect nothing less from Carly Rose.
The second group of the night tackled Adele's "Set Fire To the Rain." Fifth Harmony has really grown on me throughout this competition-but this performance left me feeling like they were good...not great. The second one was a risk-but a great one. The five girls sang Demi Lovato's "Give Your Heart A Break" and totally nailed it.
Now, you all know how much I adore Diamond White. I was so nervous when I found out she was performing a song she'd already done, but this performance of "This is a Man's World" left me SPEECHLESS. By far her best performance to date. The viewers chose "Diamonds" by Rihanna for her second song, and although it was cute because of the whole name thing, I wish they hadn't. Not only do I hate the song, I feel like it wasn't Diamond's best vocally.
Tate Stevens' unplugged version of Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" wasn't my favorite of his. I guess it's because I'm so attached to the original? I don't know. I just couldn't get into it. What do you guys think? I thought his performance of "If Tomorrow Never Comes" was way better and suited him nicely.
Man, tonight's eliminations are going to be hard to swallow...but the show must go on, right?
Make sure to tune in for a double-elimination along with special performances from Ke$ha and X Factor USA Season One champion Melanie Amaro starting 8/7c on FOX!
