Hello, hello! I'm Gigi here to give you the heads up on what went down on this week's X Factor Semi-Finals. Each act had performed two songs-one they chose themselves and one they picked with their mentor. Below you will find the highlights from the performance show on Wednesday AND the shocking results show on Thursday.
Up first was America's favorite cowboy Tate Stevens. He chose "Bonfire" by Craig Morgan. It was so much fun to watch and listen to. He really is talented. It was a perfect song choice and perfect opening performance. His second performance of Clay Walker's "Fall" was my favorite performance he's done in the entire competition. There was so much soul and emotion in his voice...I even may have (totally) shed a tear or two.

Carly Rose Sonenclar's choice was "Your Song" by Elton John. I know I say this every week, but this girl is brilliant. Like, I still can't believe she's only 13. I absolutely loved her first performance. Her second, however...although still good, I felt like there was too much done. The beauty of "Imagine" by John Lennon is that it's so simple. I think vocally, the arrangement was more complicated than necessary.
Peter Frampton's "Baby I Love Your Way" was Emblem 3's choice song. By the first line of the song I was hooked. This performance reminded me of just how good the guys can be. The song Simon helped them choose for the second performance was the Beatles classic "Hey Jude." As soon as I heard that, I was like "Please don't screw this up for me..." And as usual, Keaton, Drew and Wes didn't disappoint. I was very impressed by the way they made the song their own.
Last, but not least, the unofficial underdogs of the competition Fifth Harmony graced the stage with their beautifully chosen song "Anything Can Happen" by Ellie Goulding. It was by far their best performance to date. It was fun, and energetic and very well done. Their second performance was a Spanish/English version of Shontelle's hit "Impossible" It was very unique, and I liked it, I'm just not sure if they should have taken that big of a risk so close to the finals.
Thursday night's results show was shocking to say the least. The most shocking part of the night was when Fifth Harmony became the first act through to the finals. The looks on everybody's faces (especially Britney's) is priceless.
Then we got some music from Bridgit Mendler who performed her single, "Ready or Not," as well as Bruno Mars who performed his #1 hit song, "Locked Out Of Heaven."
Between the performances it was announced that Tate Stevens would be the second act through to the finals, that left Carly Rose and Emblem 3 - two of the most popular acts in the competition but only one would make it though. However, it came to a surprise to nobody that the final spot in the finals went to Carly Rose Sonenclar.
It was shocking and disappointing to see Emblem 3 not make the finals, but they're not complaining. They accomplished what they wanted to do on the show and have a huge career ahead of them. Check out what they said after the show HERE.
Who is your favorite to win the show? Will it be Tate, Carly, or Fifth Harmony? The finals start Wednesday night on FOX and the winner will be revealed Thursday night during the grand final which will have performances from One Direction and Pitbull.
Until neXt time!
