So...after thousands of auditions, countless rehearsals and heart-stopping eliminations, we've made it ladies & gentlemen. Part one of the X Factor finale was yesterday and it is going to be a tough battle.
The show started on a heavier note than usual with the top 13 paying tribute to the Newtown tragedy victims. The performance was heartfelt and beautiful.

The competition began with each act looking back on their X Factor journey and picking one song that defined them this season.
Carly Rose Sonenclar and Britney Spears chose "Feeling Good." I thought this rendition of the song not only blew her audition out if the water, but guaranteed her Season Two victory.
L.A. and Tate Stevens decided "Anything Goes" was Tate's Song of the Series-I couldn't have agreed more if I tried. He is so talented and charismatic and that song showcases that perfectly.
Fifth Harmony's Song of the Series was their Contestant's Choice song "Anything Can Happen." I was a little worried because they had just done the song last week, but they nailed it once again.
The next group of performances were the acts in some super awesome star-studded duets.
Carly Rose graced the stage with the lovely LeeAnn Rimes for a duet of LeeAnn's 90s hit "How Do I Live." I thought the pairing was going to be odd, but it worked really well.
Tate Stevens took the stage with Little Big Town singing the group's "Pontoon." They sounded great, but I just didn't really care for the performance.
Demi Lovato became more than just a judge last night as she and Fifth Harmony sang her "Give Your Heart A Break." Here's the thing with that performance: a) That's the second repeat song they did. That's incredibly risky b) I feel like Demi shouldn't have been their duet partner because she's already a part of the show. That irked me. Despite those details, it was still a great performance.
The last round of performances were the "$5 Million Dollar Songs"-the songs that would show America just why they have the X Factor.
Carly Rose's beautiful rendition of the classic "Hallelujah" left me speechless and in tears. She is a remarkable thirteen year old.
Tate Stevens performed Chris Young's "Tomorrow" as his 5 Million Dollar song. He is such a gem, really. It's hard not to love someone as talented and wholesome as Tate Stevens.
The last, but certainly not least, act to perform for the night was the final group standing. Fifth Harmony did a beautiful job with the Beatles classic "Let it Be." I thought a girl group doing the Beatles was new and inventive. That performance had me asking "How are they the underdogs?!"
I guess there's only one thing left to do: declare a winner! Who's your choice? We find out who won it all on tonight's season finale AND get showstopping performaces from Pitbull and One Direction?! You're not going to want to miss this! It all starts tonight at 8/7c only on FOX.
