It was the very first results show of the season on The X-Factor last night as the judges chose which act from each of their groups to send home and which 3 they want to take to the top 12 to face America's vote. The show was full of surprises, drama, and yet another name change for one of the acts in the competition. Let's dive in and see who made it!
The show kicked off with Demi's young adults team. Demi decided to save Paige Thomas and Jennel Garcia, who told host Mario Lopez, "I am so happy but my two best friends are still up there." That meant CeCe Frey and Willie Jones to sing for their lives. Frey sang Irene Cara’s "Out Here On My Own." Simon said that he preferred this CeCe better than the one he said "looked like a clown" on last night's show. Meanwhile Jones chose a cover of the Eddy Arnold song, "You Don’t Know Me." Lovato was confident in her decision and went with CeCe Frey. Demi then took to the stage to give Jones a little pep talk saying he was onto something but that this was not his time.

Then it was time for LA Reid's over 25's group. Despite Reid's disappointment with landing this group earlier on in the competition, he had a hard time deciding on who to send home. He admitted that he failed Jason Brock with his song choice of "Dance Again" on last night's show. LA made the right choice by saving Vino Alan first who performed Nickelback last night, let's hope that doesn't happen again, am I right? LA would also save Tate Stevens, another obvious choice. That left David Correy and “Mr. Entertainment” Jason Brock to fight for the final spot on the team. Correy performed a slow downed version of "Since You've Been Gone" and Brock performed Whitney Houston's "One Moment In Time." Simon wasn't a fan of either performance saying: "You’re asking me to judge two horses last in a race. I can’t believe these guys based on these performances can win." LA made a shocking move and decided to save Jason Brock and send home David Correy. A move that didn't make much sense to me.
After LA came Britney's teenagers who are all really talented making the decision on who to send home a tough one for Spears, and that came across loud and clear on the show. She decided to save Beatrice Miller right away followed by fan favorite 13 year-old, Carly Rose Sonenclar. That left Arin Ray and Diamond White to fight for that last spot on her team. Ray performed "Sorry Seems To Be the Hardest Word" by Elton John and White performed Whitney Houston's "I Look To You." It was a toss up, and a very tough decision for Spears as she got no help from the fellow judges who loved both performances. However, she made a good choice in deciding to keep Arin Ray.
Last up was Simon's groups, and let's face it we all knew who he was gonna save first, I mean it was pretty obvious who his favorites are in the competition. The first of the obvious choices was Emblem 3, as the only boy band in the competition of course Simon see's big money written all over this. During the backstage scenes he even said they could win the whole thing. The next obvious choice was Lyric 145, a group who's performance was one of the most exciting of the night, last night. That left Sister C and 1432 to battle for the final spot in the competition. During backstage footage, Sister C said their performance was thrown off track by a stage-crew error saying they were supposed to have stairs. They recovered nicely though with the Miley Cyrus' “When I Look At You,” while 1432 decided to cover Lovato's "Skyscraper." And Demi seemed to enjoy the performance saying: "I don’t know who that song is by, but you did better than the original singer." While Cowell tried to change the rules by trying to end on a positive note by saying who he's keeping, Mario shot him down with a smile, telling him they needed the act he wanted to send home. Simon decided to send Sister C packing therefore keeping 1432, who will have yet another new name come next week. Simon asked the audience to submit new names for the band, they can't be any worse than the current one, right?
Let's recap, here's a look at the top 12. Which one is your favorite to win the show?
Demi's Young Adults
| LA's Over 25's
