If there's one thing you should know about me is that I'm a HUGE radio geek, even though I don't work in radio (although it would probably be the coolest job EVER). Anyway, I listen to radio stations and shows from around the US and the world and one of the DJ's I listen to and follow on Twitter, Adam Wylde from 98.5 Virgin Radio in Calgary, AB in Canada, did a week long segment with his friend Party Marty called Hipster Week. All the videos are pretty funny, check them out below and you never know you might learn something about being a hipster!
Alright "shippers" get ready to start a new ship. In this HILARIOUS interview with Jay and Nathan from The Wanted one of the questions the kids ask is which member of One Direction Jay would date. In all seriousness though, I had to share this interview with you because it's so funny! I got a brand new #1 song this week - and it's awesome! Also got big jumps this week from Taylor Swift, Megan & Liz, and Bridgit Mendler. Only one new song this week and the HOT5 Recaps from this weekend last year, 2010, and 2009!
I figure it's about time I start using this page and posting about more than just my HOT20 Music Chart. So I thought I'd post this HILARIOUS video that a friend introduced me to earlier tonight. These guys are The Janoskians from Melbourne, Australia. They're a group of friends that go out on the streets and just do random, funny stuff. In their most recent video they do something called The Invisible Rope and people's reactions are priceless! If you like this video, be sure to check out more on their YouTube Channel. Alex Clare moves into the top 5, Karmin & Yellowcard get big gains, plus new music from Taylor Swift, The Cab, and more! Also got the HOT5 Recap from this weekend in 2011, 2010, & 2009 for ya to check out.
Welcome to the new home of my HOT20 Music Chart! This is something I've done every week since January 2009. I started this as a fun way to keep track of my favorite songs, I got the idea from a radio DJ who used to work at Z104 in Madison, WI who did a weekly chart for over 10 years. Basically every Sunday I will post a chart with my 20 favorite songs of the week and then at the end of the year I use my point system to calculate my 100 favorite songs of the year with my HOT100. My music charts from the past year were previously posted at joecage.weebly.com, if you're interested in viewing them. Anyway, let's dive into this week's music chart. It's a huge gain for Alex Clare this week, Grouplove, Imagine Dragons, and Maroon 5 also get big gains. Also got new music from Yellowcard, Karmin, and Justin Bieber. Plus the HOT5 Recap from this weekend in 2009, 2010, and 2011.
What's goin' on everyone?! Welcome to The Joe Zone! I figured I'd make my first blog post a little introduction to me. I'm a college student currently living in Colorado and majoring in communications. I started CarlosPenaNOW.com, a fansite for Carlos Pena of Big Time Rush, in August 2011 and started writing for Examiner.com as Denver Pop Music Examiner in May 2012. I also love football, photography, radio, and lots of other things.
