Oh hi HitZone readers! Long time no see! With finals coming up for most of the college aged student body, new music to listen to during the endless hours of studying is a must. So, if you’re ready for it, let me show you one of my new interests.
Juneau. Okay, first thought was “oh hey, that’s the capital of Alaska!” but after listening for a little while, I came to know Juneau as the band rather than the city. With a beat and style like Action Item or Allstar Weekend, Juneau has fresh beats and lyrics ready for any age group. Though I’m normally someone who likes to listen to a little bit of a different genre than this, this is definitely one of those artists I make an exception for. Let’s give you a little background information about these boys.

Though I’m normally someone who likes to listen to a little bit of a different genre than this, this is definitely one of those artists I make an exception for. Let’s give you a little background information about these boys.
Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, these musicians began recording and drawing the attention of fans quickly after releasing their three song debut album. Comprised of Chris Aalid (@chrisaalid) (lead vocals & guitar), Joey Mcguire (@joeymcguire)(bass & backing vocals), Chris Castrova (@chriscastrova) (guitar), Dylan Jordee (@dylanjordee)(drums), these up and coming musicians hit the scene with a three song self-titled Single. Now let’s break it down and go to the music.
“More Like a Movie” is the first track of the three and probably my favorite. Right about now, if I had my car, I would be absolutely car jamming to this one. So a word to the wise, those of you with a driver’s license and an iPod, buy this song now. Or wait, buy this whole album and jam in the car. This track has a really catchy drum beat during the chorus, which, my personal favorite is to drum on the steering wheel. But, don’t tell my parents I do that. They don’t need to know that. But again, if you have a car, drum on the steering wheel.
“Take It To The Dancefloor” is the second track of this magnificent album. This one especially reminds me of a band a couple of my good friends like called The Summer Set. This song shows listeners that guitarists Aalid and Castrova have some serious talent. Don’t forget the beat in the background, drummer Jordee shows some serious talent by multitasking. Around the 1:25 mark, Mcguire shows some serious talent on the bass too. Overall, another car jam, but this one is definitely good for air guitar.
The final track on this too short album is titled “Dance The Night Away”. This is where I will tell you HitZone readers, Juneau has serious potential to be the next One Direction. Okay maybe a different style, but Juneau will definitely be up there with Allstar Weekend and Action Item in a short time. A mix of everything you need in a band, a talented bassist, an unbelievable drummer, two hardworking guitarists and killer vocals, you will be hearing about Juneau soon.
