Just over two years after The Suite Life television franchise came to an end on Disney Channel, one of the franchises stars, Dylan Sprouse, has spoken out on why he and his twin brother Cole decided to leave the Disney family and the almost insulting way Disney Channel apparently ended their six-year relationship with the Sprouse twins.
In a new video interview with Conversations with Natalia, Dylan revealed that he and Cole had actually hoped to produce a another spin-off series for the network but where they would be producers for the show, however Disney turned them down and came back to them with a counter offer. According to Dylan, the counter offer was laughable because it was nearly the same as their original idea with a slight change in location and without the producer credits for the twins.
Dylan said that their idea was to film one last season, with the twins as producers, and set up a new show. In the season Zack and Cody would go back to live in the hotel in Boston between leaving the boat and going to college. During that time they would show the changes the hotel has gone through and during this time there would've been a little boy who lived with his single dad and well Zack and Cody were preparing for college they would raise the boy up as a little brother and show him all the trouble and fun he can have around the hotel. They had it written out so that after that, Cody would go off to college while Zack wouldn't get into college but instead become a used car salesman. Dylan says they thought this would've been a way to show kids they can be successful no matter what they decide to do after high school.

"The show could go in any direction with this kid they wanted," Dylan said. "It would also set up all the cast and crew we’ve worked with for six years. So they would not lose their jobs in our decision to go to college in real life … and we would also be making money off the producership."
Disney was not a fan of that idea and didn't trust them enough after all their time with the network, basically laughing them out the door. In a meeting about a week or so later Disney pitched them the same idea except the network wanted it based in Miami and with Selena Gomez. To put it nicely, Dylan said they basically laughed in the network's faces and that was essentially the last meeting they had with the network before leaving.
Wow, sounds like things didn't exactly end on a happy note.
The whole thing is rather interesting and you can watch Dylan talk about it in the interview below. What are your thoughts on all this?
