Ed Sheeran was recently in New York City and while there he did a hilarious interview with Ty Bentli at 92.3 NOW and even teased that he'll becoming back to America for a few of his own shows following Taylor Swift's Red Tour.
"I think I'm coming back end of the year to do a couple shows," he said.
Ed also showed off his rapping skills as he rapped the hit song "Empire State of Mind" and explained the meaning behind why he knows it so well.
"The reason I know this song is I had to cover it for Radio 1 over in England and it's such a complicated rap to just sing that I had to listen to it like a million times," he said. "Every time someone mentions something about New York it just clicks in my head cause I spent so long trying to learn it and not mess it up cause it was live obviously."
Ed also touched on his relationship with One Direction and how a few songs that he wrote ended up on 1D's album.

"I've been hanging out with them for about 6 months before everything went nuts for them in England, that was probably about a year before everything went nuts for them in America," Ed said. "They were just looking for songs and I had a demo tape of lots of songs I was shipping around to publishers to get them on other people's records and they liked the stuff."
