It's always sad to see summer come to an end. BUT it's always fun to look back at some of the great music that it brought us! While Billboard and probably most people say "Call Me Maybe" by Carly Rae Jepsen is by far the summer song of 2012, we're not Billboard or most people. Each of us here at Hit Zone have come up with 5 songs that will always remind us of summer 2012. Click on the songs to view the music video for each.

Gabi's Songs:
5.) "Hello" - Karmin
This song just recently went to radio but for all the Karmin fans out there, this was a favorite from the
moment the album was released. "Hello" is a perfect anthem about doing what you have to do. Amy's
rapping and Nick's harmonies just make this song even better!
4.) "Hell Yeah" - Midnight Red
With one of the most infectious pop songs I've ever heard, these guys have it all. Smooth dance moves, a
great video and a great song. Only thing that could be better? A single on the radio! We hope they release
"Hell Yeah" or a new song to radio later this fall!
3.) "Vegas Girl" - Conor Maynard
I found Conor on Youtube about a year ago and I knew he would be huge. Hes been decently big in Europe
(mostly England) for a bit now but he is breaking the US with this song. His album "Contrast" will be in the US later this year.
2.) "Last Day Of Summer" - Action Item
This song only came out a few weeks ago but it perfectly explains the feelings about never wanting summer
to end. The latest release of Action Item's music this up beat and poppy song is a great way to end the
summer. Keep a look out for these guys, they are on the way up!
1.) "A Team" - Ed Sheeran
This song (while having an odd subject manor) became pretty inescapable towards the end of the summer.
Ed, with sold out shows all over the world is just getting bigger. With such a distinct beautiful voice it doesn't
surprise me that he had such a huge summer song.
Joe's Songs:
5.) "Broken Hearted" - Karmin
I became a Karmin fan this summer with their EP "Hello" and their song "Broken Hearted." It was
unescapable on the radio and was just a very upbeat, catchy tune that has anyone and everyone singing
along. And how often do you hear 'cheerio' in a song, LOL!
4.) "One Thing" - One Direction
There's no denying it, summer 2012 was One Direction's summer. Their album went #1 worldwide, they
sold out a tour for next year, and won several awards. Although "What Makes You Beautiful" was the bigger
hit, I got on that bandwagon last fall. "One Thing" takes the cake for the summer song from 1D, for me.
3.) "Chasing The Sun" - The Wanted
I don't know how "Chasing The Sun" wasn't a bigger hit than it was, in my opinion it's a perfect summer
anthem! It's a fun, club style song that's also super catchy! I'd say this song tops "Glad You Came," but that's
my opinion.
2.) "Some Nights" - Fun.
Although most people would probably say "We Are Young" was their summer song from Fun. I would say
"Some Nights" - because whenever I would turn on my favorite radio station, 101.3 KDWB in Minneapolis, I
would be gurenteeed to hear this song at least 1 or 2 times and I never got sick of it - I still LOVE it.
1.) "Heart Skips A Beat" - Olly Murs (feat. Chiddy Bang)
This song is by far my favorite song of the summer. It's such a catchy and upbeat tune and not to mention
Olly Murs is such an awesome singer, this song definetly made me a fan! Check out some of his other stuff
if you get a moment.
Nimo's Songs:
5.) "One More Night" - Maroon 5
Although this song is just newly released to the radio, it's become such a hit on my iPod that it HAS to be
included. Plus this song has the perfect beat, you can work out to it, jam to it in the car, I'd LOVE to hear it
live.
4.) "Still Young" - The Graves
While The Graves are a band just starting out, their newest single "Still Young" perfectly captures the
summer and youth. Check them out, they're like the perfect blend of modern rock and the Beach Boys.
3.) "Starships" - Nicki Minaj
I admit it, I kind of love Nicki. "Starships" quickly caught my attention when it was released and has been
the anthem to my summer. And who doesn't feel slightly badass singing along to her songs?
2.) "Told You So" - Karmin
I fell in love with Karmin many many months ago, so when I got my hands on their first album "Hello" I was
quick to find my favorite song, and "Told You So" was the easy choice for me. The song is a blend of
badass, in your face lyrics, with a beat that will keep you dancing.
1.) "Everybody Talks" - Neon Trees
When this song came out I was only mildly impressed with the song. It was catchy and it wasn't bad, but
after I saw the adorable music video, and the heart shaped vinyl for the single, this song attached itself to
my heart and has been my #1 ever since. It's the perfect blend of modern music with a dash of a retro 50's
vibe.
