UK music is all the rage these days in America with talents like One Direction, Adele, Cher Lloyd, Ed Sheeran, and others bringing their music stateside from the UK. Olly Murs, another UK artist bringing his music to the US, recently talked about the difference the music market in the US and UK.
"It's a big jump, and the U.K. is a small island," Olly told AOL In House. "It's only 60 million people. And then when you come here to America -- it's so different the way you structure music here, the radio stations -- it's just big!"
"The first two albums were mainly for my U.K. audience," Olly continued. "So the music had that U.K. edge to it. I think this album has a more worldwide feel to it, so it can appeal to Americans as well. It's an album that can cross all boundaries. It has a bit more kick to it, a bit more substance."
But Olly says the big difference between the culture in the UK and US is the audience.

"I've noticed recently that no matter who you are, here in the U.S., the audience is just there for a good time," the "Heart Skips A Beat" singer said. "In the U.K., if you're an unknown artist, going out on stage can be quite daunting and you get no reception, no love. They wont even sing your songs, or clap their hands when you tell them to."
"I did a gig in America and maybe 50% of the audience knew who I was, but from my perspective performing, it felt like 100% of everyone in there knew who I was. In the U.K., they'll just talk to their mates or go get a beer."
"I think if my music career was to end right now and I didn't quite crack America, then I'd probably be gutted," Olly admitted.
Well we certainly hope Olly can crack America and with songs like "Heart Skips A Beat" and "Troublemaker," doing good on the charts, he's off to a great start!
