Olly Murs is continuing his process of bringing his music to North America. In a new interview with Adam Wylde at KiSS 92.5 in Toronto, Olly talked all about the difficult process of bringing his music across the pond and the major differences between how he made it big there and what he's had to do to make it big in North America.
"It's different over here. In the UK I was kinda a personality before I had an album," Olly said. "I was already a singer but I was someone who they liked on the TV so I had to sell the music to them but they already knew who I was, they knew they liked me. So it was kinda like 'if the music is good then we'll like him even more' I suppose."
"Over here I'm hoping people like my music but no one knows who I am yet so it's kinda like I'm having to sort of say 'hello! I'm here. Here's my face. You've heard my music but here's my face.' It's very difficult, it's very hard," he said.

"To come over here and get on all the TV shows and do things they're like 'well who is this guy?' so I'm having to sort of sit there with my resume and go 'this is what I've achieved, this is what I've done. Look at my Twitter followers,'" he joked.
"It's a very difficult process coming over here from the UK, but everyone's been really lovely and I'm having a good time."
Olly also talked a bit about how proud he is of his UK #1 album and US debut album, Right Place Right Time, and says that he hopes that he'll be able to release more singles in addition to "Troublemaker" over the next year or so.
"I'm so proud of the album, proud of the writing, the production, the songs. 'Troublemaker' has been a great single, I'm hoping to release more here in the next couple months and the next year," Olly said. "That's kinda the plan really, I got new singles coming out of the album, which I want all the fans to hear and hopefully really like."
I highly recommend you check out the full video interview with Olly over on KiSS 92.5's website, which also includes a hilarious story about Olly's parents who apparently seem to be addicted to Twitter.
