Following the big ratings for the series premiere of Sam & Cat last week and Nickelodeon airing the pilot episode every single day last week and scoring around 2 million viewers each night, it was finally time for episode 2. In this one, Sam & Cat's favorite show, That's A Drag, gets cancelled unexpectedly and Cat completely flips out. There seemed to be whole lot of underlying meaning to this episode and I'll explain that below. Here's the recap of episode 2 titled, #FavoriteShow.
The show starts out with Sam sleeping on the couch and Cat scaring her prompting Sam to sorta attack her back. Eventually they sit to down to watch their favorite show called 'That's A Drag.' After Dice comes over, they get another knock at the door and it's a father who wants them to babysit his kids after school that day. Cat heads off to school as it’s revealed Sam does online school but decides to watch Drake & Josh instead, the first of two references to Dan Schneider's previous shows in this episode.

Cat comes home from school freaking out about how That’s A Drag got cancelled, they say things along the lines of 'what kind of network cancels a big hit without a big finale?' - total underlying meaning here. Anybody else see how this so nicely reflects what Nickelodeon did to Victorious ? Yeah.
Anyway, the kids get dropped off and they head to the set of the show. Cat talks to the producer about the cancellation of the show as the set crew takes apart the set and when the producer insists there's nothing he can do and he makes up an excuse to leave, Cat chases him out to his car where he hits Cat and continues to drive while she’s on the windshield.
After Cat apparently falls off the car she returns home where Sam is with the kids and they watch That’s A Drag. Dice comes over and Sam decides to take him to the set of the show. She sends him in to take a lamp and fakes a bloody arm to grab the set crew’s attention before a cop busts Dice and the plain fails.
After it fails, Sam fakes being a set boss and demands that the stuff from the set be delivered to their house instead of the storage unit it was going to. Sam surprised her by decorating the entire apartment in stuff from the show.
So, what did you think of this episode? Was it better than the first episode? And what did you think of all the underlying meanings going on throughout?
Also, anyone else think that at some point they gotta bring in a few characters from Victorious and iCarly? Especially Cat's friends from Hollywood Arts, they just can't ignore them, can they? Dan Schneider has made no secret of the fact that cast members have visited the set but hasn't said much on if any will guest star on the episode.
