The Hit Zone Spotlight Artist this week is Kingston, a country/pop duo from Nashville made up of brothers Josh and Zach Carter. With over 100,000 Twitter followers and over 300,000 total YouTube views, these guys are raising and have a very loyal fanbase.
Currently the the guys mostly cover songs on YouTube. They take each song they cover and give it a unique, country sound that makes them stand out. They've covered everybody from Taylor Swift to Cher Lloyd to Katy Perry to their latest, Ed Sheeran's "The A-Team." The guys got a huge boost in popularity a few months ago when Liam Payne of One Direction tweeted out their cover of "What Makes You Beautiful" saying "nice to see a man cover" and the video is easily their most popular video yet, check it out below.
The guys also have had many original songs which include, "Loved By You," "Heart Like Memphis," and "So What." One of their most recent songs though is "Dear Someone," in which they sing about finding that special someone. Check out the awesome music video below.
Speaking on a personal note, I've been a big fan of these guys for years. I discovered them back in 2009 when they were known as The Carter Twins when they were nominated for a CMT Award. They have many great songs from their Carter Twins days including "Heart Like Memphis" and what is hands down my favorite version of "Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!"
