It may have been Memorial Day on Monday (May 27) but that didn't stop The Voice's top 8 contestants from going out and giving it their all! Before the top 8 took the stage, Blake Shelton performed his brand new single to kick off the Memorial Day show. A group performance of "Diamonds" by Rihanna was also performed by Judith Hill, Sasha Allen, Sarah Simmons and Michelle Chamuel while The Swon Brothers, Amber Carrington, Danielle Bradbery, and Holly Tucker sang "Something More" by Sugarland.
Let's take a look at the individual performances of the night.
Let's take a look at the individual performances of the night.
Singer: Judith Hill (Team Adam)
Song: "#ThatPower" by Will.I.Am (feat. Justin Bieber)
Thoughts: This was a very different performance for Judith as she gave the pop song a more soulful feel. Usher called it a great way to open the show and said she did a incredible job putting her own twist on it. Shakira acknowledged that it was risky but said she did great. Adam said it was the first time this season that he said to himself that he's watching an artist not just a contestant on The Voice.

Singer: Holly Tucker (Team Blake)
Song: "Done" by The Band Perry
Thoughts: The energetic performance earned a standing ovation from coach Blake himself. Usher called her an incredible talent and said she nailed the high notes. Shakira loved her attitude and sassyness she put into the performance. Blake said this was the first time he's seen her own a song saying she "chewed it up and spit it out."
Singer: The Swon Brothers (Team Blake)
Song: "Seven Bridges Road" by The Eagles
Thoughts: The Swon Brothers delivered another great performance in this campfire-themed performance, which got a standing ovation from Blake Shelton. Usher said The Eagles would be proud of what they did while Shakira agreed saying that the classic Eagles' harmonies fit them well. Adam wasn't so sold on the performance saying there was a few moments that he was "scared" but said overall it was great. Blake said this performance, along with their performance of the George Jones song from 2 weeks ago, shows how "real" they are.

Singer: Sasha Allen (Team Shakira)
Song: "Without You" by David Guetta (feat. Usher)
Thoughts: Performing a song that a coach sings is always risky, but Shakira thought it was a good fit and she did a great job with it. Adam said that every time she sings it's always "bittersweet" because she used to be on his team. Blake said it was "so much fun" and said for the first time he started comparing himself as a singer to Sasha and thinks she bought Shakira another week on the show. She received high praise from Usher as well for the energy and greatness she brought to the song.
Singer: Sarah Simmons (Team Adam)
Song: "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye
Thoughts: Usher said it was great that she showed a different texture to her voice and called it a "great effort" on her part. Shakira agreed saying that it was "interesting" to see her take on the song. Adam said that it's a tough song to sing and felt that nobody had done it right until Sarah performed on Monday night.
Singer: Michelle Chamuel (Team Usher)
Song: "Granade" by Bruno Mars
Thoughts: Usher was sure to give her a standing ovation and hyped up the crowd bringing it to one of the largest cheers I remember hearing on the show. Shakira described it as "spectacular" and Adam described it as "dynamic" and "really cool" and called it one of the best of the night. Blake said it was her best performance so far. Usher said that she represented what the song was all about and everything they love about life and he couldn't be happier with her performance.
Singer: Danielle Bradbery (Team Blake)
Song: "Grandpa (Tell Me 'Bout The Good 'Ol Days)"
Thoughts: Usher was quick to point out her awesome red boots and called if "effortless." Shakira said that she has star quality and said one of the reasons she's come so far is because she's believable. Adam said that she is a country artist that is being born and that she's gonna be huge beyond the show. Blake, who gave her a standing ovation, called it "amazing" as always.

Singer: Amber Carrington (Team Adam)
Song: "Skyfall" by Adele
Thoughts: Blake said she took the diva powerhouse vocal of the night and said that she's still a country singer no matter how much she tries to cover it up with a pop song. Adam said that in the history of the show nobody, but her, has done an Adele song and done it justice adding that she can do anything.
