The Voice was back tonight with another round of blind auditions. The backstage dialogue between coaches that was very noticeable in last night's show was gone tonight until the very end of the show. It also wasn't a very good show for Blake Shelton as he didn't get any new artists for his time tonight. Here's what went down.
The night started with Trevanne Howell, a single mom of 2, who sang Whitney Houston's “I Have Nothing." Although the coaches praised her attempt at covering Whitney, none of them turned their chairs for her. Next up was Collin McLoughlin who sang “Wild World” and got Cee-Lo and Blake to turn around right away followed by Adam. After the coaches gave them their cases and told him how much they liked him, he decided to join Team Adam.
Joselyn Rivera sang Kelly Clarkson's "Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)" and got Blake and Christina fighting. Blake even jokingly said that Christina has been known to be abusive and stopped people from singing in the past. Even with all the jokingly slams on Christina from Blake, Joselyn had to go with her inspiration, Christina. Then it was Benji's turn. The former race car driver sang “Knockin on Heavens Door” and got Adam and Cee-Lo to turn around and Christina even made a case for Adam by comparing Benji's voice to his. It must have had some impact because he decided to go with Adam.
Skipping ahead to the final performance of the night by a man named Mycle Wastman. His performance of "Let's Stay Together" was easily my favorite of the night. He also had a great story about how music has always been his passion after both his parents died at a young age and losing his grandfather recently. He got Adam &
Cee-Lo to turn around right away followed quickly by Blake. Adam even stood up for him when he finished.
Cee-Lo told him he was most excited about him out of all the artists tonight and Blake called him the best vocalist they’ve heard tonight. After all three coaches made their case, he decided to go with Cee-Lo.
Here's where the team's stand.
