The Wanted sat down with E! today to talk about their show "The Wanted Life" as it premiered in the UK. During the hour long live chat, the boys answered fan questions, performed their new single "Walks Like Rihanna", and talked about their TV drama.
As seen on their "The Wanted Life", band member Nathan Sykes took a break from the band to undergo vocal cord surgery after he began having issues with his voice. During the chat one fan asked the band what everyone seems to be wondering now that Nathan has returned and is performing with the band, "What was it like to perform without Nathan?".
"It's weird covering for anybody's vocals when. It is weird. It is strange," Tom Parker replied. "But we tried, and we could. Max took Nate's middle part in 'I Found You,' which is a big part of the song and not easy to sing. It's quite difficult to sing. And yeah, I think you did quite a sterling job to be honest."
Max followed Tom, saying "For me, we've all got good ranges in our voices and stuff, so we can always cover for each other," he said. "But for me, it was more when you watch it back and you'd hear a chorus, even if you stood onstage, you just felt like there was something missing. Whether it was his physical self or you could just, [hear it] in a chorus, you'd be like, 'It just doesn't sound as big as it should do.'"
The band also said that they'd often leave a gap in their set when performing onstage without Nathan, saying that their moves while performing were affected by Nate's absense.
